At Aahar 2025, Sunbeam Ventures, a company specializing in importing, marketing, and distributing premium fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands across India, showcased its entire product range in a hall dedicated to importers and exporters.
The company provides to diverse categories such as food and confectionery, beverages, personal care and beauty, and home and fabric care.
Chetan Arjoon, national sales head, Sunbeam Ventures, spoke to IndiFoodBev about the increasing demand for imported FMCG products in India. He pointed to the success of Mogu Mogu, a fruit juice drink with nata de coco, and the company’s imported coffee range, both of which have gained traction among Indian consumers.

“Mogu Mogu has done particularly well in India, especially among younger consumers who like its unique texture and flavors. Similarly, our coffee range has been well-received, as consumers are becoming more interested in premium, international blends,” Arjoon said.
Arjoon noted that the size of the importer-exporter section at Aahar 2025 reflects the expansion of India’s food import sector. He described this as a golden period for importers, with Indian consumers showing a greater interest in global food and beverage products.
“The market is much more open to international brands now. Consumers are willing to try new products, and this is reflected in the growing demand for imported goods,” he said.
While the demand for imported products is on the rise, Arjoon acknowledged that the industry still faces challenges related to regulations, distribution, and pricing. Import duties and compliance requirements can impact pricing, making affordability a key factor in determining which brands succeed in India.
He remains optimistic about the future. “Despite the challenges, we see a lot of opportunities. The shift towards premium and unique products is clear, and companies that can navigate the logistics and pricing effectively have a strong chance of growth,” he added.
According to Arjoon, exhibitions such as Aahar are an important platform to engage with industry stakeholders and understand market trends.
