In an endorsement of India’s rapidly increasing profile on the world whisky map, DeVANS GianChand Manshaa has not only won the Grand Gold but also the International Whisky of the Year Award at Meininger’s International Spirits Award (ISW) 2025, in Germany, overpowering revered international rivals from whisky-dominant nations.

DeVANS Modern Breweries has once again been recognized for its innovation with a newly launched single malt expression, GianChand Adambaraa, which has won both ‘Best Indian Single Malt Whisky 2025’ and ‘Best Indian Whisky 2025’ awards at the International Whisky Competition (IWC) in Louisville, Kentucky. These wins reaffirmed DeVANS’ position at the forefront of India’s rapidly evolving single malt landscape.

DeVANS GianChand Manshaa and GianChand Adambaraa are the latest expressions from DeVANS. The company introduced the GianChand single malt range to share India’s distilling craftsmanship with the world as a tribute to the legacy of its founder, Dewan Gian Chand. Manufactured, matured, and blended in Jammu in the Himalayas, GianChand single malts have earned a reputation for smoothness, purity, and complexity.

Meininger’s International Spirits Award (ISW), Germany, one of the world’s most prestigious spirits awards, recognized DeVANS GianChand Manshaa with a Grand Gold. Out of 450 spirits, only 11 received this honor. DeVANS GianChand Manshaa, the only Indian Whisky to receive this honor, surpassed all entries from top whisky-producing countries such as Scotland, Ireland, USA, Germany, and others.

Commenting on GianChand Manshaa’s performance, Prem Dewan, chairman and managing director of DeVANS, said,This prestigious Grand Gold and International Whisky of the Year Award at ISW Meininger, Germany 2025 is a great recognition of our passion, craft, and commitment to quality and embodies DeVANS’ pursuit of excellence. This prize is not only for DeVANS, but a recognition for the future of Indian single malts and India’s expanding role in the global perspective. Coming closely on the heels of the Best Indian Single Malt Whisky 2025 2025 and with Best Indian Whisky 2025 awards to DeVANS GianChand Adambaraa at the International Whisky Competition (IWC) in Las Vegas, USA, the awards cement DeVANS’ place in the premium Indian Single Malt category.

“GianChand Manshaa and GianChand Adambaraa represent two facets of our legacy — one bold and peated, the latter refined and elegant—both crafted to suit today’s evolving tastes. Their success is a tribute to our team’s hard work and reinforces India’s rightful place among the world’s top producers of single malts,” adds Dewan.

He explains that Adambaraa is its most assertive expression yet. It is the first unpeated single malt from the DeVANS stable and is crafted for the discerning consumers who demand richness and uniqueness. Matured in handpicked American bourbon casks, Adambaraa presents a rich amber color with notes of dried apricots, honey, and toasted spice. As one tastes it, a gentle sweetness envelops the palate, with caramel and toffee notes unfolding with finesse.

The rise of GianChand Manshaa and GianChand Adambaraa showcases DeVANS’ unwavering dedication to excellence and its dream of placing Indian whisky on the global map. With subtlety, DeVans has been setting benchmarks on how the Indian single malts are perceived in the global markets.

Both Gianchand Adambaraa and Gianchand Manshaa are available in Delhi and Hyderabad duty-free at a price point of Rs 9500 and soon will be available in Haryana and Goa retail as well.
