At drinktec 2025 in Munich, Dalmia Polypro Industries made its mark with a strong focus on sustainable packaging and advanced recycling technologies. Representing the company was Subhash Bhagat, AVP – R&D, who spoke about Dalmia’s growing role in developing high-quality recycled materials for global beverage brands.
With operations across India and a base in Mumbai, Dalmia Polypro has emerged as one of the key players in the recycling of PET and polyolefins. As Bhagat explained, since bottle caps are typically made of polyolefins, the company’s recycling operations naturally extend beyond PET. “PET remains our mainstay,” he said, adding Dalmia now produces food-grade rPET resin that meets stringent international standards.
The company has transitioned from manufacturing rPET flakes to producing fully recycled, 100% food-grade resin — a development that brings recycled PET on a par with virgin material in terms of clarity and performance. Bottles produced from this resin, Bhagat noted, are virtually indistinguishable from those made with virgin PET, signaling a major leap forward in circular packaging.
Dalmia Polypro’s recycled resin is currently under approval with major beverage giants Coca-Cola and Pepsi, underscoring the company’s growing credibility in the global packaging supply chain. The firm has also been exporting to the European markets, where demand for certified food-grade recycled plastics continues to rise amid tightening sustainability regulations.
For Dalmia Polypro, exhibiting at drinktec was both strategic and symbolic. “This is where our industry lives and breathes — packaging innovation, sustainability, and collaboration,” Bhagat said of the decision to participate in Munich.
The company received an encouraging response from visitors and prospective partners, with particularly strong engagement during the first three days of the exhibition. “It’s been a good show overall,” Bhagat remarked, reflecting on the steady flow of interest from European converters and brand representatives.
With its upgraded recycling technology and expanding export footprint, Dalmia Polypro is positioning itself as a frontrunner in India’s transition toward a circular packaging economy. By investing in food-grade rPET and polyolefin recovery, the company aims to strengthen its role as a reliable partner for global FMCG and beverage brands seeking sustainable material solutions.
