At PlastIndia 2026 in Delhi, Electronic Devices Worldwide (EDWPL) highlighted its Sigma CapSeal division, with a range of advanced post-mold automation solutions designed to meet the packaging industry’s evolving demands.

A 51-year-old Mumbai-based company, EDWPL, has established a strong global presence with four manufacturing plants in India and one in the United States, exporting to nearly 80 countries. The company specializes in post-mold automation, focusing on assembly machines, inspection systems, and robotic automation tailored to enhance productivity and quality.

The Sigma CapSeal division showcased a portfolio of high-performance solutions, including 360-degree vision inspection systems, robotic case packers, CRC cap assembly machines, and spout assembly machines. These technologies are designed to ensure precision, consistency, and efficiency in packaging processes, specifically targeted for industries such as FMCG, food, and pharmaceuticals.

We try to ensure that our customers’ objectives for production, quality, and overall business goals are met,” said Vivek Chinoy, director, Sigma CapSeal. He noted that EDWPL works closely with leading players across industries where stringent quality requirements are non-negotiable.

The response at PlastIndia 2026 has been encouraging, with strong footfall and international interest. “We have received leads and visitors from several countries,” Chinoy shared, indicating growing global demand for automation solutions in packaging.

Chinoy highlighted the Indian packaging sector’s robust growth trajectory. “The Indian packaging industry is among the top contributors to the GDP. This growth is driving the increased adoption of automation and smart technologies, particularly in high-volume and high-precision applications such as caps and closures.”

According to him, a key focus area for EDWPL is integrating artificial intelligence into its systems. By embedding AI capabilities, the company aims to make its machines more intelligent, adaptive, and capable of delivering consistent performance in dynamic production environments. “We are integrating AI into our systems to ensure they remain smarter and continue to meet customer expectations,” Chinoy added.

Looking ahead, EDWPL plans to expand its footprint while strengthening its manufacturing capabilities in India. The company is currently developing a new facility in Umargaon, Gujarat. This upcoming plant will feature advanced infrastructure, including an expanded test laboratory for vision systems, robotics, and assembly machines.

We are building a world-class facility where customers can experience and test our technologies firsthand,” Chinoy said.
