The Ministry of food processing industries (MoFPI) is set to host the fourth edition of World Food India (WFI) 2025 from 25 to 28 September 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Covering an area of 1,00,000 square meters, more than 21 countries, 21 states and UTs, 10 central ministries and five allied government organizations will take part in the mega global food event, making it the largest congregation of stakeholders in India’s food processing sector.
To be inaugurated by prime minister Narendra Modi on 25 September 2025 at 6:00 pm, the inaugural session will be attended by Dmitry Patrushev, deputy prime minister of the Russian Federation, Nitin Gadkari, Union minister of road transport and highways, Chirag Paswan, Union minister of food processing industries, and Ravneet Singh Bittu, Minister of state for food processing industries and railways.
Paswan said, “World Food India is not merely a trade show, but a transformative platform to position India as a global hub for food innovation, investment, and sustainability. Under the leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi, the event demonstrates our commitment to sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready food systems and strengthens India’s position as the Food Basket of the World.”
Key highlights
Partner countries are New Zealand and Saudi Arabia and focus countries are Japan, Russia, UAE, and Vietnam. More than 1,700 exhibitors, 500 international buyers, and representatives from over 100 nations are taking part. There are 45+ knowledge sessions, including thematic discussions, state and country-specific conferences, and CXO roundtables with 100+ global agri-food leaders.
A few parallel events will be held – the third Global Food Regulators Summit (FSSAI) to foster harmonisation of global food safety standards; the 24th India International Seafood Show (SEAI) – to highlight India’s seafood export potential; Reverse buyer-seller meet by APEDA.
Special exhibitions, international pavilions, state and ministry pavilions, pet food zone, technology pavilion, and MoFPI startup innovation pavilions are part of the show.
This year’s edition is structured around five core pillars – sustainability and net zero food processing; India as a global food processing hub; Frontiers in food processing, products and packaging technologies; Food for nutrition, health and wellness; and livestock & marine products accelerating the Indian rural economy.
Paswan has launched a publication titled ‘Frequently Asked Questions on Different Concepts of Food Processing,’ The initiative, prepared in consultation with industry stakeholders, seeks to dispel myths surrounding processed foods and provide science-based information to encourage informed choices among consumers.
