At Anuga FoodTec India 2025, Mumbai-based Goma Process Technology showcased its latest innovations and shared its vision for the evolving food and beverage processing industry.

Goma unveiled two key innovations at the exhibition. The first was an automatic cheese-stretching and moulding machine, and the second highlight was Goma’s high-pressure homogeniser lab model, capable of operating at 1,500 bar.

This is the first time that a machine for automatic cheese-stretching and molding has been manufactured in India,” Amol Maind, general manager, Goma, explained. “It is designed for mozzarella stretching and molding as well as ball-forming applications.” According to him, the launch is a significant milestone for the domestic industry, reducing reliance on imported equipment for high-demand cheese processing lines.

Talking about the second machine on highlight, he said while its primary application is in the food sector, particularly for non-dairy whipping cream and specialty creamers, the machine is also designed to serve the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, including the processing of cancer and specialty drugs.

The company operates four manufacturing facilities—two in Gujarat, one in Pune, and one near Mumbai—with its head office located in Thane. “Currently, we have a presence in 55 countries with an in-house R&D centre dedicated to formulating and developing new products for the food industry,” said Maind.

On the industry growth, Maind observed the food and beverage sector has experienced a strong resurgence since the pandemic. “The last three years have been booming,” he noted. “In 2024, both ice cream and dairy segments performed exceptionally well, and beverages have seen robust demand with increased foreign investment and expansion by major Indian groups.”

He said one of the most visible trends is the movement toward mass production lines. “Earlier, plants were being set up with 30 BPM, 60 BPM, or 100 BPM capacity,” Maind explained. “Now everyone is talking about 300, 600, 800, even 1,000 BPM lines. This is becoming a volume-driven game.”

Goma has plans for expansion and product development. The company is targeting penetration in the Middle Eastern, Asian, and European markets, as well as entry into the South American regions that offer significant opportunities for growth in food processing technology. He emphasized the company’s continued focus on R&D. “We want to concentrate more on R&D to develop new product lines that help clients save both energy and operational costs,” Maind said.
