Bengaluru-based Horti Green Foods, a B2B concentrate maker and supplier, promoted its lemon and orange concentrates at Fi India, held from 3-5 September at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. Horti Green Foods’ lemon concentrate was the highlight of its showcase and a key product that it manufactures in more than 40 variants.

According to Priya Vellanki, director, the company’s maiden Fi India went beyond expectations with serious sales inquiries. “This show was far better than most of our recent participation. We received such a cream footfall right from the first day,” Vellanki said. The company’s production unit is based in Andhra Pradesh.

The concentrates are supplied to several Indian food processing companies across India, such as ITC, Mala’s, Nilon’s, Rasna, Patanjali, Raw Pressery, Hudson Agro Products, and more. Vellanki explained that the concentrate market in India has immense potential and a constantly growing demand. Each year, the demand grows nearly double, consequently, so does the production.

We supply only fresh concentrates in any quantity ranging from a single can to 30 tons, as our business model is predominantly made to order, we do not keep any stock. Since our products are preservative-free, the shelf life is limited. We ask our customers not to retain the stock, but according to their requirements, they can store it between 0-5 degrees celsius,” she says.

Horti Green does not fear counterfeiting as they believe what they manufacture is unique. Vellanki says their competitors can’t manufacture what they provide. “Our R&D team works closely with customers to find their requirements on technical parameters, which could include certain acidity, taste, color, or mouthfeel.”

For production, it utilizes an Italian aseptic technology with 4-ton capacity while it sources its citrus fruits from Egypt. On the company’s plans, Vellanki says expanding market reach takes priority, several food processors not still aware of Horti Green’s products. “We have been participating in several food shows as part of our branding exercise, and given the huge consumption in India, our clientele is sure to grow,” she concludes.
