The Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) is organizing India’s first-ever Bharat International Rice Conference 2025 (BIRC 2025) jointly with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), ministry of commerce & industry, on 30 – 31 October 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi

The Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) is an apex federation representing over 7,500 exporters and allied stakeholders. The event is expected to be attended by more than 1000 importers and foreign delegates and 2500 exporters, millers, and other stakeholders in the value chain.

With self-sufficiency in food security, India’s rice sector now enjoys leadership in export in both basmati and non-basmati categories. With export of over 20.19 million tons in 2024-25, India continues to be the largest exporter of rice in the world, contributing over 40% of the global pie. This year export of basmati is expected to be a record high of over 6 million tons. India’s export footprint covers more than 170 countries, with major markets in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, US, and Southeast Asia.
