The fourth edition of World Food India (WFI), scheduled from 25 to 28 September 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, is set to be the largest edition yet, with participation expected from over 90 countries, more than 2,000 exhibitors, and thousands of stakeholders spanning the entire food value chain from farm to fork.

The ministry of food processing industries recently organized an Ambassadors’ meet at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi, to discuss overseas participation in the World Food India (WFI) 2025. The fourth edition of ‘World Food India’ is being organized by the ministry from 25 – 28 September 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event will showcase the Indian food processing sector, with collaborations and investments from global stakeholders.

The interaction was chaired by the secretary, ministry of food processing industries, Avinash Joshi. It was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, charge d’ Affaires and other senior representatives from a wide spectrum of countries.

In total, 51 countries were represented in the interaction. Senior officials from the ministries of external affairs and food processing, APEDA, FSSAI and ITPO, apart from the organizations involved in the event (FICCI, Invest India, and EY) attended.

PS Gangadhar, joint secretary (economic diplomacy), ministry of external affairs, emphasized the importance of the event. The secretary briefed the representatives about the details of World Food India.

Gangadhar explained that WFI 2025 will feature a series of buyer-seller meets, thematic & technical sessions, exhibitions, dedicated pavilions on alcoholic beverages, HORECA, post-harvest technologies, food processing & packaging machineries and more – creating avenues for B2B and G2G engagements, fostering mutual collaborations, and enabling industry-specific partnerships. During the presentation, this year’s focus pillars were detailed, and glimpses of the past editions were provided.

The participants were apprised of the preparations made for the event and opportunities available for participating countries/ business entities. All the representatives of the embassies appreciated the special importance of the event in the existing global food scenario and assured all efforts for active participation from their respective countries. The representatives assured the presence of a strong food processing sectoral contingent from respective countries.
