Leading brewer The Carlsberg Group has launched its first-ever IT global capability centre (GCC) in Gurugram, marking a significant step in its global digital transformation journey and, underscoring India—and Gurugram in particular—as a critical hub for technology, innovation, and future growth.

The center will provide managed IT services, infrastructure operations, and application support, strengthening Carlsberg’s IT backbone and accelerating innovation on a global scale.

Operated under a build-operate model with IT services provider GSPANN, the GCC will employ over 300 professionals in its initial phase. It aims to drive digital transformation, automation, and enterprise standardization across Carlsberg’s operations in more than 150 markets worldwide.

“The launch of our first Global Capability Centre in Gurugram marks a critical milestone in our Accelerate SAIL strategy. With India’s exceptional talent and GSPANN’s support, this centre will help us build agility, innovation, and leadership into everything we do,” said Esther Wu, CIO of Carlsberg Group.

Anurag Pandey, CTO of Carlsberg Group, said the GCC gives it the ability to unify the company’s IT landscape and scale it globally. “Our focus will be on agile processes, smarter use of data, and secure, enterprise-grade operations.”

AP Grover, co-founder and president of GSPANN, added, “A GCC should not just run operations, it should shape the future. With Carlsberg, we are building a digital hub that fuses scale, speed, and sustainability.”

Together, the Gurugram and Hyderabad centres are set to act as transformation engines, enabling automation-led operations, enterprise standardization, and future-ready IT capabilities, positioning Carlsberg for sustained growth and innovation from India.
