Three Coca-Cola bottlers in India are planning to jointly invest ₹25,760 crore (approximately US$ 2.96 billion) to improve the country’s food processing infrastructure. They have signed memoranda of understanding with the Ministry of food processing industries for both greenfield and brownfield projects, according to an industry official.

The companies involved in this investment are SLMG Beverages, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages and the Kandhari Group of Companies. This investment will be spread across nine states: Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu.

Paritosh Ladhani, joint managing director of SLMG Beverages, told PTI, “Coca-Cola India, along with all other bottlers, including SLMG Beverages, has signed a memorandum of understanding for an investment worth ₹25,760 crore in the food processing industry.”

SLMG Beverages, the largest bottler for Coca-Cola in India, will contribute ₹8,000 crore to this investment.

The projects are anticipated to create 30,000 direct jobs and 300,000 indirect employment opportunities. Implementation is set to begin this year, with a targeted completion date of 2030.

The ministry has pledged to assist in obtaining the necessary regulatory clearances for the proposed investments.
