GEA has recently launched its new flexible cubicle GEA DairyBarn B3130 for dairy cows which claim to enlarge cow comfort and maximize the milk yield. It allows that animals can lie down and stand up with ease, with maximum safety because of its innovative design. According to the press release, this results in healthy and rested cows which are essential for productivity and profitability in the dairy farm.

According to the company, GEA DairyBarn B3130 is the only cubicle on the market without fixed horizontal pipes. Therefore, it offers freedom of movement, flexibility and safety at the same time. The key benefits of the new cubicle are the flexible divisions which move sideways when touched by a cow, a wide front opening, a neck rail bar with vertical flexibility as well as a guide to ensure an optimum lying position. Produced from highly compressed polypropylene (PP), which guarantees greater flexibility while maintaining a high level of reliability compared with conventional steel designs.

More milk, healthy cows and optimum use of barn space

The result of longer lying times of 12 to 14 hours in a day, is a herd with reduced stress and healthy cows with a long productive life. Improved hoof and joint health, as well as increased milk production for the long term, is also a positive result of better cow comfort, because of more intensive rumination activity and better blood flow to the udder.

According to GEA, the additional benefit of the GEA DairyBarn B3130 is that the flexible cubicle can be adapted to perfectly fit the size of cows and their natural movement patterns. Its versatility ensures maximum safety and makes it almost impossible for the cows to feel constricted. It optimizes the wellbeing of the animals and also utilizes the barn space in the best possible way.

Comfort for animals and people

The GEA DairyBarn B3130 is one of the premium product lines in GEA’s cubicle portfolio, the company claims. Together with the mattress system, water troughs and cow brushes, the new GEA cubicle in the barn ensures maximum comfort for animals and people.
