Multivac India, which offers complete solutions for the packaging and processing of food, medical and pharmaceutical products, has opened its Global Capability Center in Hyderabad. The new Multivac subsidiary based in HITEC City in Hyderabad will provide IT support and software development services for the whole Multivac Group.
Around 30 guests took part in the opening ceremony with with the cutting of the ribbon and the ceremonial lighting of the lamps, including Sanjay Kumar, special chief secretary, department of information technology, electronics & communications (ITE & C) and department of industries & commerce, E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, special secretary, investment promotion, vice-chairman & MD, TGIIC and representatives for German industry in Telangana.
Sanjay Kumar congratulated the Multivac team and offered his department’s support for future collaboration. He encouraged them to represent Telangana as a brand ambassador and promote the state in Germany. E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy highlighted the vast talent pool available in Hyderabad. He spoke about TASK’s role in enhancing youth employability through industry-aligned training that bridges the gap between academics and industry needs.
In March 2025, a new company, Multivac Technology Solutions India Private Limited, was founded, so that the group’s capacity in IT and digitalization, which currently comprises 250 employees, could be expanded through qualified IT specialists. The new Global Capability Center in Hyderabad comes with several strategic benefits such as rich talent pool, strong IT ecosystem, government support and infrastructure, scalability and expansion potential.
The directors of the new company are Marius Grathwohl, vice-president digital products and transformation, and Wolfgang Rundel, vice-president corporate IT at Multivac. “We want to continue being able to offer our customers innovative and intelligent solutions. Here digitization and highly automated, software-supported production lines play a central role,” explained Marius Grathwohl. “Thanks to this expansion, we can now significantly increase our capacity to deal with inquiries and projects even more rapidly and flexibly in the areas of IT and software development.“
Wolfgang Rundel added, “In the coming weeks and months we will gradually strengthen our team on-site with senior developers and young university graduates. Our objective is to grow to around 50 staff members by 2027.”
For more than 15 years, the Multivac Group has been represented in India by its own subsidiary, and it sees the South Asia region as an important part of its strategy of greater internationalization. At the beginning of 2024 a new Multivac production site was put into operation in the State of Rajasthan.
