Hoyte and Matthijs Sillevis Smitt, founders of S&S Baking Solutions, are proud of the strategic alliance they have formed with Orangeworks Group.

Orangeworks Group, a developer and supplier of advanced technologies for the food industry, has signed a strategic partnership with S&S Baking Solutions.  With this alliance, both companies focus on jointly further developing innovative, sustainable and efficient production technologies for the baking industry worldwide.

S&S Baking Solutions supplies baking equipment and turnkey projects to industrial bakeries looking to integrate steam technology into their processes. As part of Orangeworks Group, S&S Baking Solutions will be able to further develop its expertise at an accelerated pace and market it internationally. Steam technology offers unique advantages, including shorter baking times, lower temperatures and energy savings from electrically generated steam. This results in more efficient, more sustainable production with less energy consumption and baking losses.

The collaboration between Tanis Food Tec (TFT), part of the Orangeworks Group, and S&S Baking Solutions expands the product portfolio to fully service industrial bakeries with integrated solutions. TFT is a specialist in aeration technology for airy products such as batter and creams, while S&S Baking Solutions is strong in steam technology. By joining forces, industrial bakeries can be completely supported with solutions in which aeration and steaming are seamlessly integrated. From the development of unique recipes based on customer requirements, such as aerated batter types, to complete projects in which processes such as aeration, cooling, filling and decoration are precisely coordinated. This results in products with optimal texture and taste, while making production more sustainable.

Mirjam van Dijk, CCO Orangeworks Group, sees many benefits in the strategic partnership. “We want to continue to develop into an integral partner for our international clients. This new partnership with S&S Baking Solutions is a next step in that process. Together with S&S Baking Solutions, we can now respond even better to the growing demand for sustainable and efficient baking solutions. Our joint goal is to spread the benefits of steam technology widely, from Europe to the Middle East and Asia, and to create new production opportunities for the bakery market.”

Both the founders of S&S Baking Solutions, Hoyte and Matthijs Sillevis Smitt, are also excited about this new step for their company. “Orangeworks is a respected name in the international food industry and we are proud of the partnership we have entered into. This gives S&S Baking Solutions a big boost for healthy growth. This will allow us to further accelerate the development of our technology on an international scale.”

The joint innovations will be presented in the coming months at international trade fairs such as ProSweets, IBA and Interpack. S&S Baking Solutions will also organize workshops and presentations for industrial bakeries at the Steam Baking Center in Amsterdam.
