Varun Beverages has announced that said its South African subsidiary Bevco will acquire Crickley Dairy Proprietary for Rs 131.47 crore – accelerates its strategic expansion into value-added dairy and juice products in South Africa.
The Beverage Company Proprietary Ltd (Bevco) “has executed an agreement dated March 17, 2026, for the acquisition of 100% equity stake of Crickley Dairy Proprietary Ltd, which is incorporated in South Africa,” said a regulatory filing by Varun Beverages (VBL).
VBL will acquire Crickley Dairy from Clark Holdings Proprietary, its parent entity. The acquisition is subject to customary regulatory approvals, including the Competition Commission of South Africa.
The company stated that the transaction aligns with its strategy to diversify its product portfolio by entering new categories such as value-added dairy and juice-based beverages.
In March 2024, VBL had acquired The Beverage Company in South Africa, along with its wholly owned subsidiaries, including Bevco. This move enabled the company to strengthen its presence across franchised territories in South Africa, Lesotho, and Eswatini, as well as expand distribution rights in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, and Madagascar.
Crickley Dairy has a strong presence in South Africa’s Eastern Cape region. It produces a range of dairy products, including milk, cheese, and yogurt, as well as some soft drinks. Crickley’s products are distributed through major South African retailers such as Shoprite, Spar, and Pick n Pay.
