Domino, being the market leader in the coding and marking business in India over the last 25 years, is now also focusing on its label presses and trying to add significant value to label manufacturers, converters, and brand owners. Its hybrid label presses are built in India in collaboration with Multitec the Indian narrow web flexo label press supplier that now has a considerable footprint both in India and the overseas export market. Three of these hybrid digital presses integrating the Domino N610i module have already been sold into the Indian market.
Globally, Domino offers a comprehensive range of solutions for the label and packaging segment. Its N-Series includes the N610i 7-color inkjet label presses, the N730i module, and N610i integration modules available for building hybrid label printing presses.
N610i digital color label press
The N610i digital color label press is a solution for cost-effective printing of short and medium-run label production. It can be configured as a standalone, in-line, or as part of a hybrid label press, combining digital with conventional print and embellishment capabilities, and is capable of printing at a high print resolution of 600 dpi. According to Domino, it provides excellent light fastness and abrasion resistance, high opacity white coverage for silk-screen replacement, and an option for food packaging compliance.
N730i module with enhanced i-Tech
Using Domino’s latest generation 7 inkjet technology platform, the 7-color N730i 1200 dpi digital label press is equipped with Brother’s Bitstar print head. The system is designed to deliver exceptional print quality at up to 70 meters a minute for printing self-adhesive and shrink sleeve labels with reliability.
The N730i label press combines 1200 dpi print quality with Domino’s enhanced i-Tech intelligent technology features to deliver improved efficiency, use, function, and reliability, for optimal output and investment return. The features include automated maintenance from i-Tech CleanCap2, consistent print density and registration from the new i-Tech SetAlign, and optimum ink-jetting reliability from i-Tech ActiFlow.
The N610i Integration/Hybrid Module
An industry-standard print module for digital hybrid printing, the N610i integration module, can be easily integrated into a flexo label press to combine digital with analog printing and finishing capabilities such as diecutting, foiling, varnishing, and laminating. This enables high-impact labels to be delivered in a single efficient process with flexo for white solids from roll to final finished product output.
It can be used for multiple SKU production where only the digital image element changes with each SKU, so the whole job can be printed without stopping the line, improving efficiency and reducing waste.
Monochrome digital inkjet variable imprinting

With more demand for variation, versioning, personalization, and short runs, the Domino K600i high-speed, modular, monochrome digital inkjet printer provides traceability, security, promotional games, and versioning solutions. It is easy to integrate into existing web or sheet handling systems for digital imprinting or can be utilized as a monochrome digital press.
The K600i can print high-quality 600dpi digital variable data, including alphanumeric text, barcodes, 2D codes including QR codes and data matrix codes, and graphics, at up to 200 meters a minute speeds. There are options for high-opacity white ink as a cost-effective alternative to screen printing, suitable for a wide range of labels and packaging applications.
Domino’s beliefs in shaping the future of the label industry

Commenting on the company’s achievement in building a reputation in the label market, Ajay RaoRane, vice-president of Digital Printing Solutions, Domino Printech India, says, “We continue to invest in our R&D, which has enabled us to expand our digital printing portfolio. Our presence and position within the label sector continue to grow. We have seen significant demand for high-speed, monochrome, and Variable Data Printing (VDP) applications to support the eCommerce sector. The recent addition of our X630i digital corrugated printing press further expands our sector reach, providing the market with an aqueous-based, food packaging compliant solution which is capable of printing onto both coated and uncoated corrugated board types.”
“The Indian label market is promising, and many label converters are exploring digital printing with Domino. We are working with our label converters to help them navigate the dynamic and fast-changing landscape. The most significant current development is focus and orientation towards sustainability. Sustainability, although not a direct measure of profitability, is progressively influencing a company’s success, even to the extent that shareholders want to understand Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) credentials before investment. Much less waste is created by inkjet printing, and the drive to improve environmental credentials will help fuel a further change in its use.”
