Syntegon Technology India, a leading manufacturer of packaging machines, recently hosted a three-day in-house event at its plant in Verna, Goa. The three-day event, organized from 1-3 November, showcased the company’s wide range of packaging solutions, including two new launches. A large number of customers visited the event during the three days.
The first launch was a stand-alone vertical bagger specifically designed for low-density snacks such as potato chips. The machine, which strengthens the company’s VFFS portfolio, handles the fragile snacks both efficiently and gently and produces up to 105 bags per minute with the product.

The second market launch comes from the horizontal packaging portfolio: the Pack 301 LS flow wrapper with a loader can pack standard shapes of cookies, biscuits, and crackers on edge, while offering the accustomed efficiency and intuitive operability.
“The in-house event is to showcase our engineering capabilities and strength to innovate. The visitors witnessed our portfolio of solutions as well as the two new launches. With the VFFS solution, we have plugged the gap that we had in our portfolio. This machine has a small footprint and is faster than existing solutions in the Indian market. The Pack 301 is a great solution for Indian biscuit producers,” Nilesh Vedak, managing director of Syntegon Technology India, told Packaging South Asia in an exclusive interview at the Verna plant.
Vedak said Syntegon Technology India has great expectations with both the new launches and expects them to do well in the market.
“We will target both the Indian and the export markets. Our focus areas would be the Indian subcontinent, South-East Asia, Africa and South America, among others. We expect both new machines to be well received by the market,” he said.
Event highlights
Syntegon further demonstrated its ongoing sustainability efforts in Verna. The PHS 2.0 sealing technology, for example, can process more environment-friendly mono-materials such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) and helps manufacturers improve their ecological footprint.
The technology was shown both with the SVI 2600 high-speed intermittent vertical bagger and the SVI 4000, a machine for higher fill weights. In trial runs, the combination of the SVI 2600 bagger and the PHS 2.0 filled 65 bags per minute for 500-gram bags, while the SVI 4000 with PHS 2.0 achieved 30 bags per minute for five-kilo bags.

The Pack 201 flow wrapper retrofitted with the paper-ON-form system was displayed for customers looking to package their product in paper. This technology allows food producers to upgrade their existing Syntegon HFFS machines to process paper – a solution that is both sustainable and cost-effective.
The visitors had the chance to learn more about Synexio, Syntegon’s cloud-based solution to turn machine and production data into actionable insights. The software tool Synexio receives data from Syntegon machines via built-in sensors and self-diagnosing systems. This data is then analyzed, evaluated, and visualized, giving manufacturers complete transparency over their production – and the possibility to optimize it in a targeted manner.
Continued growth
Syntegon Technology India is optimistic about its future growth prospects. The company expects to continue to grow at a robust pace, driven by both domestic demand and exports.
“We have shown almost 18%-20% growth in the recent past and will maintain this pace in the near future. Both the Indian market and the export market will help drive this growth. Also, we have solid support from our parent company. In the coming years, we will continue to benefit from the global engineering and service network of the Syntegon Group, speeding up innovation. As the food industry evolves in India, Asia, and Africa, we can support this positive development by offering machines from entry-level to high output seamlessly connected packaging lines,” Vedak said.
Overall, the in-house event was a success for Syntegon Technology India. The company showcased its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, and demonstrated its strong position as a leading provider of packaging solutions.
