Leuze electronic has been inventing, manufacturing, and distributing cost-effective sensor systems for industrial automation worldwide for over a decade. The South Germany-headquartered company looks at the whole picture of a customer’s workflow to develop practical solutions. Leuze substantially began its India operations in Bengaluru in April 2008 and presently has branches in all major cities of India. At the recent PackPlus exhibition in the Delhi NCR, the company’s manager of sales, Sagar Parmar talked about its motion sensors and further developments in ethernet and internet communication devices, roto scans, 270 degree, and 360-degree safety devices.
Describing itself as ‘The Sensor People’ Leuze has specialized in sensors for more than 50 years. Leuze Electronic has developed and manufactured optoelectronic sensors, identification systems, image processing, data transmission systems, and safety systems since 1962. The firm is well-known for its optical sensor innovation across the spectrum in factory automation.
Leuze is a group of five product centers which it calls PCs. Its PC1 is for optoelectronic sensors, including inductive, photo-sensors, ultrasonic, laser, and capacitive sensors. PC2 is focused on measurement including distance measurement and data transmission. The PC3 comprised identification using one-dimensional and two-dimensional barcode scanners, RFID, and machine vision.
The company’s PC4 is for security and services which include laser scanners, light safety curtains, locking mechanisms, and pull cord switches. PC5 for trading goods and label items, including signal lights, encoders, connectors, power supplies, mounting brackets, and several types of motion sensors for the conveyor industry, were showcased at PackPlus in December 2021.
Pandemic gives impetus to automation in packaging
At a time when reduced resources and hands-free operation and quality control have increased in importance, there has been a renewed interest in packaging automation. Leuze has participated in PackPlus three times but during the pandemic-related break for shows in 2020, customers took the opportunity to personally inform themselves about the company’s offers and establish personal contact. “After the pandemic, a huge surge has been seen in the packaging sector, and consumers are moving towards packaged food,” says Parmar. “The packaging sector is evolving, and innovations are daily happening in the industry so that the packaging becomes good and sustainable.” Parmar concluded by saying, “Exhibitions are the best place for business because you can compare company products to select the best for your business.”
