After consultations with the fair’s key stakeholder groups, Meat Pro Asia organizers, Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media, and VNU Asia Pacific have announced the postponement of the event due to travel restrictions impacting inbound travel to Thailand. The new processing and packaging trade fair for the ASEAN market originally arranged from 10 to 12 March 2021 at IMPACT, Bangkok, has been rescheduled to 22 to 24 September 2021 at the same venue.

To stem the spread of Covid-19, a mandatory 14-day quarantine remains in force for inbound travelers to Thailand, with little indication that restrictions will be lifted before March 2021. This has created planning uncertainty for the international visitors and exhibitors of Meat Pro Asia and for participants of the larger concurrent event, VIV Asia, which attracted 65% of visits from outside of Thailand in 2019.

Early announcements about the postponement of both events give international participants more time to confirm their travel arrangements. Meat Pro Asia and VIV Asia can continue to benefit from international visitor synergies and ensure a vibrant business environment in September 2021.

Held on a biennial basis, Meat Pro Asia focuses exclusively on animal protein production processing and packaging. This includes equipment used in slaughtering, processing, packaging, labeling, wastewater treatment, and cold chain logistics.

According to the organizers, the inaugural edition in 22 to 24 September 2021, together with VIV Asia, is set to attract over 1,000 exhibitors, including equipment manufacturers and distributors, as well as around 50,000 professional trade visitors from the butchers’ trade, the retail trade, caterers, importers, exporters and more.

Held alongside VIV Asia, the most international event from feed to food in Asia, Meat Pro Asia is organized by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media and VNU Asia Pacific.
