At Anuga FoodTec India 2025, Sealed Air, a global leader in advanced packaging solutions, highlighted its brands Cryovac and AutoBag.
Sushil Sharma, business leader for food in India cluster, Sealed Air, said the company generated strong interest from industrial players in the food and packaging business, looking forward to exploring the latest in performance packaging and automation.
The company showcased a diverse range of Cryovac solutions that demonstrated how packaging can extend product freshness, minimize waste, and enhance shelf presentation. “Sealed Air Cryovac is a solution provider company. We provide equipment and materials for packaging perishable food products while also enhancing shelf life in the right way,” Sharma explained.
“Whether it’s a green label product or one requiring extended shelf life or geographical coverage, our solutions are well designed for retail display, exports, and transit. At the same time, we focus on minimizing damage and driving sustainability,” he said.
The stand showcased solutions, including skin packaging, wrapping, ready-meal concepts, fluid packaging, and aseptic dispensing solutions, covering a broad spectrum of food categories. These packaging systems allow processors to maintain quality while enabling safe distribution across wider markets.
According to Sharma, Cryovac’s packaging technologies are particularly relevant in India, where demand for longer shelf life and safe distribution is increasing, especially with the growing penetration of modern retail and exports.
Alongside packaging materials, Sealed Air also presented two machines. The first was a vacuum skin packaging machine from Cryovac. Compact yet versatile, it was designed to deliver premium-quality packs ideal for frozen and chilled products.
“In a skin packaging, you can almost feel the product. It’s the most used format for premium frozen display products such as meats, pizzas, sausages, and salamis,” Sharma said while showcasing trial packs created at the stand.
The second highlight came from AutoBag, a Sealed Air company specializing in automated bagging solutions. This machine demonstrated how packaging automation can streamline operations across industries like e-commerce, automobiles, and spare parts.
“It enables unitized packaging by printing and bagging items such as nuts, bolts, and spares in a compact format. It’s a wonderful solution for industrial and e-commerce setups where efficiency and accuracy are critical,” Sharma noted.
Reflecting on the exhibition, Sharma was enthusiastic about the response. “The three days at Anuga FoodTec have been extremely useful and exciting for Sealed Air. We had a good presence of our products and solutions on display, and we were able to engage with many existing customers as well as new prospects interested in expansion or adding new products to their portfolio,” he said.
Looking ahead, Sharma emphasized the company’s commitment to recyclable materials and circularity in packaging. “We are heavily focused on improving the sustainability and recyclability of our materials and enhancing circularity. We already have a promise to be net zero in the next five to seven years across our plants and applications,” he shared.
