The Ahmedabad-headquartered multilocational packaging company, Canpac Trends highlighted its sister company Sweetdisp at the Indusfood Manufacturing exhibition in New Delhi. Sweetdisp specializes in sustainable packaging for food products and quick food service, such as d-cut bags, various types of paper plates and trays and twisted handle bags.

Its stand featured square plates and bowls, rectangular trays, and takeaway sandwich boxes designed to meet the growing demand for food-safe, eco-conscious packaging solutions in the food service industry. Speaking about Sweetdisp’s offerings, Pawan Pareek, senior sales and marketing manager, said its paper plates are made from 100% food-safe materials, completely free from toxic chemicals, explaining that while many packaging products claim to be recyclable, that alone does not guarantee they are food-safe.

“Our products are aimed at making the food packaging industry more sustainable,” Pareek said. “Recyclable doesn’t always mean food-safe—some recyclable materials still contain harmful chemicals which may not alter the taste of food but can pose serious health risks.”

He said Sweetdisp’s disposables can be used by all businesses from roadside stalls and small eateries to large-scale events, without compromising health or environmental responsibility.

Sweetdisp has gained traction in the quick service restaurant (QSR) industry, supplying its paper-based food packaging to well-known chains. According to Pareek, the company’s products are cost-effective, customizable, and available in various sizes to suit diverse business needs. “Our packaging solutions do more than just serve food—they help businesses enhance their reputation by aligning their brand with food safety and sustainability.”

Along with Sweetdisp’s product portfolio, the stand highlighted folding and corrugated cartons, paper bags, and luxury boxes from Canpac. With five plants across the country already in operation, Pareek said that Canpac will soon come up with another plant – this time in Noida.
