Despite the corona pandemic, around 17,000 highly qualified visitors attended the new trade fair focusing on International Food Technology – Organizers DLG (German Agricultural Society) and Coex are satisfied with the positive response to the exhibition program – The event took place from 25 to 28 November 2020 at the Coex Center, Seoul, South Korea, parallel with the 15th edition of Coex Food Week.

The organizers, DLG (German Agricultural Society) and Korea’s leading exhibition and venue management company Coex, are delighted with the first Food Industry Technology Show Korea results. Striking a first balance, Peter Grothues, member of the Board of Management of DLG, and Seung Kyeong Yang, vice-president of Coex, said, “The Food Industry Technology Show Korea has instantly established itself as a future forum and promising business platform for decision makers and experts for food and food markets in North and East Asia.”

Around 17,000 visitors gathered information at Food Industry Technology Show Korea, held from 25 to 28 November 2020 at the Coex Center in the South Korean capital city Seoul, parallel with Coex Food Week, the leading trade fair for food and beverages markets of North and East Asia.

Despite the corona pandemic and related travel restrictions, the around 330 exhibitors attending Coex Food Week and Food Industry Technology Show Korea covered the entire food value chain – from production to marketing. Among the premier exhibitors was an official German Pavilion with companies presenting the latest innovations within the international food technology markets, made in Germany.

Covid-19 requires flexible business solutions and information services such as those offered by Food Industry Technology Show Korea. Therefore, the trade fair was accompanied by a new online platform offering both digital content and new networking and business opportunities complementing the exhibition program with its outstanding safe business hygiene concept.

“The Covid-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of many tradeshows at Coex this year, but we were delighted to organize Food Week Korea and Food Industry Technology Show Korea as scheduled: especially as this year’s event is the first co-organized with DLG. Despite the difficult situation and travel restrictions, we have successfully launched the show. We believe that Food Industry Technology Show Korea will be a leading food industry event in Asia in the near future, gathering global leaders of the industry under one roof”, adds Seung Kyeong Yang, vice president of Coex.

 Korea Food Tech Conference covers the food market trends after Covid-19

 In the accompanying technical program, the Korea FoodTech Conference 2020 introduced the latest food market trends after Covid-19. The conference covered the latest food technologies such as future food, ICT, production, storage, distribution, and sales with frontrunners of the market. The two-day event’s focus topics were “Food Safety and Technologies after Covid-19” and “Robotics and Automatization – How we work together.”

The next Food Industry Technology Show Korea will again be held together with Coex Food Week and feature an extended conference program. It is scheduled for 24 to 27 November 2021 at Coex Center, Seoul, South Korea. Further information is available at www.dlg-foodindustry.com.
