Direct Gas Fired (DGF) and Convection Oven modules, designed to deliver the performance of GEA's proven baking technology while providing key benefits for bakery producers across the region.

GEA Bakery will showcase its expanding presence in the Indian and broader Asia-Pacific bakery equipment market at Anuga FoodTec India 2026, running 29 September to 1 October at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. The company will be stationed at Hall 3, Booth H36, where it plans to present two oven modules assembled locally in Vadodara, Gujarat, GEA stated in a blog post.

GEA is exhibiting its Direct Gas Fired (DGF) Oven and Convection Oven — physically built at the company’s Vadodara facility. According to a GEA press release, the modules are assembled under direct supervision from GEA engineers and carry CE certification, meaning they meet the same design and component standards used in the company’s European manufacturing operations.

The company is positioning the initiative as a way to serve bakery producers across India, APAC, and Southeast Asia more efficiently.

Key advantages cited by GEA include:

Consistent engineering and quality standards, matched to GEA’s global benchmarks; CE-certified components and technology; Shorter lead times for regional customers, driven by local assembly; Lower costs through localized supply chains, without a performance trade-off; and Greater flexibility for regional project requirements.

Beyond the oven modules on display, GEA representatives at the booth will be available to consult on bakery applications spanning biscuits, cakes, pies, and tarts. The company frames the exhibit as part of a broader strategy to adapt its baking technology — developed and proven in European markets — to the specific needs and pace of growth in South and Southeast Asian food production.

The appearance comes as GEA describes the Indian and wider APAC food manufacturing sector as changing quickly, prompting equipment suppliers to localize production and shorten delivery timelines to stay competitive.

GEA’s Vadodara-based assembly line is presented as a direct response to that shift, aiming to combine the reliability of its established European engineering with faster, more cost-effective delivery for regional customers.

Anuga FoodTec India 2026 runs through October 1 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
