From 25 to 28 November 2020, the Food Industry Technology Show Korea will take place for the first time. The new food technology platform celebrates its premiere in the South Korean capital Seoul. The new trade fair and conference format promises to highlight developments, products, and services of international food technology specifically. Together with the parallel Coex Food Week, the established meeting place for food producers and dealers, the trade fair represents the entire value-added chain. The organizers are the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) and Korea’s leading trade fair company Coex. Interested companies can register and book a stand starting immediately. The early booker phase with attractive conditions ends on 30 June 2020. For further information and stand booking, click here.
In South Korea, the food market is also booming and imports are rapidly increasing. On the one hand, this is related to the domestic food industry, for it covers only approximately half of the population’s needs. On the other hand, the growing prosperity results especially in younger consumers demanding more high-quality and diverse food – in particular from abroad. In addition, customer requirements are becoming increasingly individual; they demand products in smaller lot sizes, and therefore systems that can be flexibly converted. Efficient processes that enable a higher degree of convenience than just a few years again and rising food quality are in demand.
“For the Korean food industry, topics like digitalization, networking and automation play an increasingly important role. Manufacturers in the entire region require fully automated process and packaging technology to increase their productivity and keep up with the demand from consumers”, emphasizes Simone Schiller, managing director of the DLG Competence Center Food (Fachzentrum Lebensmittel).
Food manufacturers will have access to automation and digitalization from 25 to 28 November 2020 in Seoul at the trade fair Food Industry Technology Show Korea. The new trade fair and conference format focuses on developments and offers international food technology and its relevance for the markets in Northern and Eastern Asia.
“With the Food Industry Technology Show, we offer national and international suppliers of food technologies, production aids, additive materials and packaging solutions, and food producers an attractive business platform and a network of international food technology experts. Together with the Coex Food Week, which has grown to become Korea’s leading trade show for the global food and beverage industry, welcoming a large number of local and international buyers, we thus cover the entire food value chain”, says Schiller.
Drew Lee, chief executive officer and president of Coex, emphasizes the importance of the new trade fair for the Korean peninsula and the region of North and East Asia. “Given the increasing globalization of product trends and flows of goods, close networking with the international food technology scene is crucial for the food and beverage producers from South Korea and the whole region. DLG and Coex launch over 20 shows annually in Korea and overseas, we believe that Food Industry Technology Show Korea can achieve strong brand competitiveness and identity within the industry. We are confident that the partnership between the two who excel with both expertise and an international network will result in record-breaking success.”
Lee adds, “We’re firmly convinced that the Food Industry Technology Show Korea will take place in November with a view to the current coronavirus pandemic. Hygienic concepts during the trade fair, the very successful containment measures in South Korea and the resulting sharp drop in spreading of the virus are decisive factors here.”
According to the press statement, the accompanying technical program from DLG, Coex, and other partners highlights not only current topics from the areas of food processing, packaging and ingredients but also the increasing digitalization of production and processing possibilities.
The Food Industry Technology Show Korea will be carried out in cooperation with the professional partners, including Food-Processing Initiative, Korea Food Cold Chain Association, 3D Printing Teachers Association (3DPTA), Bulgarian Branch Chamber Machine Building.
