Kochi, India and Norwich, England, 1 Sept — Malayali Beer, a craft beer brand founded by Indian entrepreneurs Chandramohan Nallur and Sargheve Sukumaran , hailing from Kerala and residing in Poland, has made a mark on the global brewing stage by winning Gold in the Lager category and Bronze in the Non-Alcoholic Czech Style category at the prestigious World Beer Awards 2025.
The awards ceremony, held in Norwich, United Kingdom, celebrates the finest beers from around the world, judged by an international panel of experts. Malayali Beer’s recognition in two competitive categories is a testament to its unique blend of Indian rice and Czech hops and its commitment to quality, innovation, and cultural storytelling.
Founded in 2022, the brand has rapidly expanded its footprint across 21 countries, including its recent and significant launch in Kerala at the Cochin International Airport duty-free. The brand is also expanding to all major states across India.
“This win is not just for us, it’s for everyone who dares to dream globally,” said co-founder Chandramohan Nallur. “We’re proud to be recognized by World Beer Awards just within 3 years since our launch, and this recognition motivates us to strive further to offer the best produce of all our variants going forward.”
“We are truly honored to receive this award, having competed against century-old breweries and emerged as a standout newcomer. Launching the brand in our homeland, Kerala, around the same time adds to the joy,” says Sargheve Sukumaran.
The brand’s journey began during Operation Ganga, India’s evacuation mission during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, where the founders were inspired to create a product that celebrates resilience, identity, and unity.
The brand plans to expand into North America, Oceania, and Southeast Asia by the end of 2025. It has already seen strong success in the UK, UAE, Singapore and Europe, with sales growing by 30% year-over-year.

Yakshi is the upcoming vodka brand from this brand and is all set to launch later this year. It is a single malt vodka crafted from the residual by-products of the distillation process used in their 0% alcohol beer, Malayali Habibi. The founders describe Yakshi as a tribute to their roots in Palakkad, Kerala, inspired by the famous Yakshi statue at Malampuzha.
The variants include Malayali Premium Lager, Malayali Power and Malayali Habibi (Non-Alcoholic Beverage). Malayali Beer continues to redefine what it means to brew with purpose and pride. It is now available in Oman at Muscat Duty Free as of August 30th. This is the 21st country for the brand and its second Duty-free launch in just one month, making it one of the fastest-growing beer brands in the world.
Founded in 2022, Hexagon Spirits International’s Malayali Beer is a premium international lager made by blending European brewing traditions with Indian ingredients. The beer is brewed in Poland and is the brainchild of two Keralites, Chandramohan Nallur and Sargheve Sukumaran. The beer is brewed with European hops and Indian rice flakes and offers a crisp, smooth flavor profile that’s both refreshing and distinctive.
Available in multiple variants, the beer is available in 21 countries including India. More than just a beverage, Malayali Beer is a tribute to the ingenuity of its creators and the rich heritage of the Indian community. It’s a story of turning challenges into opportunities, and of crafting something extraordinary from the unexpected. The variants include Malayali Lager, Malayali Power and Malayali Habibi (Alcohol free).
