Following notices from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Mondelez India and Amway India have withdrawn misleading health and product-label claims, according to media reports.

Mondelez removed unsupported health and nutrient-comparative claims for its Bournvita cocoa drink from online stores, pulling advertisements that promoted the product for weight gain or height growth without scientific backing.

Amway voluntarily dropped the term “100%” from its “100% Pure Coconut Oil” labels and marketing materials, and discontinued the “Energy Drink” descriptor for its XS product line. Updated packaging is expected to roll out from late 2026, once existing stock clears the market.

In related developments, Sapiens Labs withdrew claims and advertisements flagged by the regulator, while Kerala-based Juza Foods agreed to remove claims related to immunity, bone strength, and digestion from its baby food products.

The food safety regulator has been cracking down on companies making false or misleading claims such as 100% pure or 100% sugar-free among others.
