Johann Kreilinger, head of Sales Subcontinent at Brückner Maschinenbau, says, “The highly motivated teams of Brückner in the Siegsdorf head office, our subsidiary in India and of course finally at site managed the challenges of this project, even during the difficult circumstances due to Corona. This is the result of a terrific team performance. A big thank you goes to our valuable customer Nahar Poly Films, who provided the best possible support at each individual stage of the project. Only together we all were able to successfully start Nahar’s BOPP expansion project nearly in time.”

High capacity building in Indian flexible packaging

In the past two years, Indian flexible packaging has shown resilient growth and strong long-term prospects with promoters placing more than a dozen orders for new extrusion and stretch film lines expected in the three or four years to 2024. Apart from these, about a dozen blown films lines are installed in the country each year.

The majority of the extrusion and stretch lines on order are from Brückner. These are being currently arriving and being installed at a fairly high rate. Apart from the Nahar Polyfilms BOPP 8.7 meter line installed at Mandideep, Vacmet’s 8.7 meter Brückner line is already commissioned and running and its 10.4 meter line is under installation. Several other polyester and BOPP lines are expected to be installed in the June – July time frame at Akash Polyfilms, SML, SRF, and Satyendra. The Bruckner 8.7 meter BOPP line for Surya Global a part of the Surya Food biscuit group has arrived in Greater Noida with the installation to begin near the end of March. Surya Global’s second Brückner line on order is to be installed after another 18 months toward the end of 2023.
