Galacia Cheese was first launched in 2025

Paras Dairy, the consumer brand of VRS Foods Limited, has launched Galacia Cream Cheese at Anuga Select India in Mumbai, according to media reports. The product targets India’s fast-growing institutional and HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering) sectors.

The launch builds on the company’s cheese portfolio, which debuted with Mozzarella and block cheeses at Aahar 2025.

Galacia is aimed at professional users such as bakeries, cafes, cloud kitchens, and quick-service restaurants (QSRs), as well as home bakers. The company notes that the institutional segment accounts for roughly 85-90% of cream cheese demand in India. The product comes in two formats: a 400g pack for home bakers and smaller bakeries, and a 1kg pack for professional HoReCa users.

To support the rollout, Paras Dairy is focusing on cold-chain management, product consistency, and application-led trials, with sampling campaigns planned in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi.

The launch is backed by an investment of over ₹100 crore in the company’s cheese production plant in Newasa, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

Gajinder Nagar, Joint Managing Director of VRS Foods, said, “The company’s investment in the cheese business is aimed at strengthening manufacturing capabilities and expanding its presence in value-added cheese categories.”
