Millions of people around the world do not have safe access to drinking water. In many regions, the infrastructure is stretched to its limits, particularly due to industrialization and the growing population. Lutz-Jesco, a German specialist in pump technology and water disinfection, supports communities and operating companies with modular technology to modernize their drinking water networks.

At IFAT 2026 in Munich (Hall 3A, Stand 222) from 4–7 May 2026, the company will be presenting systems for the safe dosing of chlorine gas, as well as electrolysis systems that produce disinfectants from commercially available salt.

“In the past, Lutz-Jesco has already developed several tailor-made disinfection systems that facilitate the disinfection of drinking water for hundreds of thousands of people in countries such as Uzbekistan and Tanzania,” says Robert Heuschneider, chief operating officer at Lutz-Jesco. At IFAT, the company will be presenting selected components and solutions from these projects to industry experts.

“At this trade fair, we aim to strengthen our dialogue with planners, operators, and decision-makers from around the world in order to initiate further projects that could sustainably improve drinking water supplies and people’s quality of life.” The company not only offers hardware, but also supports the planning and commissioning of on-site systems as well as the training of operating personnel.”

Stationary and mobile water disinfection with chlorine gas

One of the products that will be presented at IFAT 2026 is the Easypro 2 measuring and control water panel. Once connected to the water network, the device continuously records water parameters, such as the pH value and chlorine content. Based on this information, the device automatically controls the addition of chlorine gas from pressure cylinders.

Safety is provided by the Easycon gas warning device, which monitors the ambient air, raises the alarm in case of emergency, and interrupts the addition of chlorine gas directly at the tank valve via the Chlorstop safety valve. Even emergency systems like sprinkler installations can be automatically activated.

Lutz-Jesco is one of the few suppliers worldwide that can provide all system components for water disinfection with chlorine gas from a single source,” says Heuschneider. “The devices can be permanently integrated into waterworks or installed in containers for mobile deployment.”

Electrolysis system

In addition to chlorine gas technology, electrochemical processes for drinking water disinfection are also attracting attention. This is why Lutz-Jesco is presenting the EASYCHLORGEN electrolysis system at IFAT 2026. It produces sodium hypochlorite from standard table salt, between 240 g/hour and 60 kg/hour, depending on the model. “Production, storage, and dosing of the chemical directly on site minimizes the risk of accidental release and prevents exposure to employees,” says Heuschneider. “In particular, the technology is interesting for decentralized water supply systems.”
