Mettler Toledo, a global name in precision instrumentation and product inspection, has announced a new three-part live webinar series, ‘Maximize Dairy Yield: Smart Product Inspection to Cut Giveaway and Boost Profits.’

Running across October and November 2026, the series will explore how dairy manufacturers can turn product inspection into a driver of profit, compliance and production confidence.

The webinar series will follow a three-part journey from the production line to the data backbone, beginning with how modern checkweighers can help dairy manufacturers control fill levels, reduce giveaway and increase sellable yield.

The series will then move on to how manufacturers can achieve and leverage automated data collection methods to gain secure, audit-ready insight for continuous improvement across operations, before concluding with the impact of the new Euramet Calibration Guideline 26 (CG-26) on industry weighing practices.

Each webinar will be available to register for individually, giving manufacturers the flexibility to attend the sessions most relevant to their role, production challenges or compliance priorities. Two sessions will be offered throughout the series to support attendance across different regions.

In high-volume dairy production, even small levels of overfill can add up to significant lost margin. Cups, tubs, bottles and pouches all need to meet declared weight requirements, but over-generous filling, process drift, unstable fillers and inconsistent checks can quickly erode profitability. At the same time, manufacturers must maintain accurate records, demonstrate control and keep equipment performing reliably in demanding hygienic environments.

The Maximise Dairy Yield webinar series has been developed to help quality, production, compliance and operations teams address these challenges through a more connected approach to product inspection.

Webinar 1: Protecting Your Bottom Line: How Dairy Leaders Cut Giveaway with Intelligent Checkweighing

Taking place on 22 October 2026, the first webinar will focus on how intelligent checkweighing can help dairy producers protect margins, maintain fill accuracy and improve line performance across cups, tubs, bottles and pouches.

Checkweighers can provide real-time insight into overfill and underfill trends, filler behavior, maintenance needs and production data, helping teams act quickly and keep weights on target. In dairy environments, where hygienic design, washdown routines and high throughput are critical, this level of control can help manufacturers reduce giveaway and meet compliance requirements while maintaining product consistency.

This first session will explore five practical strategies for dairy manufacturers. These include using 100% in-line checkweighing and automatic reject to support stable pack weights. Plus, the benefits of connecting weighing data to filler control so deviations can be corrected before waste builds up. Finally, the presenter will look at improving pack and portion accuracy where declared weight and product value directly affect profitability.

The webinar will also look at the role of maintenance, verification and calibration in keeping checkweighers performing reliably. The speakers will also explore how connected data, dashboards and trend analysis can help manufacturers identify drift, track rejects, reduce rework and improve yield over time.

Webinar 2: Next-Level Yield: How to Turn Checkweigher Fill Level Data into Profit

Complementing the first webinar is the second session, taking place on 29 October 2026, which will focus on automated data collection and how it can help manufacturers turn checkweigher results into clear, actionable insight.

Automated data collection is the backbone behind next-level yield optimization. By automatically collecting and structuring weight, trend and event data from connected product inspection devices, manufacturers can identify unstable fillers, over-generous targets and recurring sources of waste. This enables teams to focus resources where they can deliver the greatest margin improvement.

The session will explore how centralized oversight of connected checkweighers can reduce manual set-up, maintain consistent configurations and give teams a clearer view of line performance. It will also cover how product giveaway data can help manufacturers compare products, lines, shifts and sites, while tracking savings over time.

The webinar will conclude with practical insights for quality and compliance teams, highlighting how to achieve secure, audit-ready digital records that document both regulatory compliance and the financial results of optimization initiatives. Attendees will see how real-time dashboards and alerts also help quality, production and management teams stay aligned on where yield is being lost and where profit can be gained. With the right solutions in place, next-level yield becomes measurable. Manufacturers can see where every gram goes, prove the savings being delivered and keep improvements locked in across the operation.

Webinar 3: Mastering the New Euramet CG-26 Guideline in Dairy Production

The final webinar, taking place on 12 November 2026, will address the new Euramet CG-26 guideline for automatic weighing instruments and its impact on dairy industry weighing practices.

Accurate checkweighing calibration is essential for maintaining product consistency, reducing the risk of costly errors and supporting compliance documentation. As dairy manufacturers face increasing demands for precise and reliable weighing processes, understanding the latest calibration guidance is an important step in maintaining control.

This session will provide an overview of the Euramet CG-26 guideline and explain what it means for dairy production environments. It will cover detailed calibration procedures, including static, dynamic repeatability and dynamic eccentricity tests, as well as how to understand and interpret the Euramet Calibration Certificate for compliance documentation.

The webinar will also examine the role of preventive maintenance as the foundation for calibration and ongoing performance verification. Practical insights will be tailored for manufacturers looking to strengthen their approach to service, maintenance and weighing accuracy.

Who should attend

The series is designed for dairy manufacturers and wider food production businesses looking to reduce giveaway, improve yield, strengthen compliance and gain better visibility of inspection performance. It will be especially relevant for quality assurance professionals, production managers, compliance officers, operations leaders and teams responsible for product inspection, weighing, line performance and audit readiness.

Although the series focuses on dairy production, the principles discussed will also be relevant to manufacturers working across other high-volume food categories, including pet food, snacks and meat processing, where accurate weight control, product quality and compliance documentation are critical.

“Giveaway is one of the most direct ways that margin can be lost on a production line, but it is also one of the areas where better data, smarter inspection and reliable equipment performance can make a measurable difference,” says Frank Borrmann, market manager for the Strategic Business Unit Checkweighing and Vision, Mettler Toledo

“This webinar series is designed to show dairy manufacturers how fully integrated product inspection solutions and calibration strategies work together to support yield optimization, compliance and long-term process control.”

The Maximize Dairy Yield webinar series is free to attend and open to food manufacturing professionals worldwide.
