Centric Software, a leader in product lifecycle management (PLM) for fashion, retail, food and consumer goods, announced that Sichuan Teway Food Group (Teway Food) a leading Chinese compound condiment company, has deployed Centric PLM to digitalize R&D, automate compliance and strengthen cost management across its compound condiment business.
Centric Software delivers innovative, integrated, end-to-end AI-powered enterprise solutions to take products from concept to commercialization. Food & beverage, cosmetics & personal care, grocery and multi-category retail teams can plan, design, develop, formulate, source, comply, buy, make, price, allocate, assort, sell and replenish products to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Founded in 2008, Teway Food is a nationally recognized specialist in compound condiments. Its seven brands, among them Haorenjia, Dahongpao and Tianche, reach consumers across China and more than 50 export markets, spanning recipe-based seasonings, hotpot bases and sauces.
Teway Food invests heavily in R&D and treats its innovation teams as one of its most valuable assets. The brand portfolio and export footprint grew faster than the company’s ways of working could keep up. R&D data sat scattered across teams, formula updates ran slow and error-prone, compliance reviews dragged through manual cycles and both costs and project progress were hard to see. The answer had to fit an industry where recipes and regulations shift constantly and material costs never sit still.
“Because we place such importance on R&D, we conducted extensive research and multiple rounds of evaluation when selecting a PLM provider,” explains the R&D and innovation center team at Teway Food. “Centric PLM stood out thanks to its deep understanding of the consumer products industry, proven implementation experience and exceptional flexibility.”
The company went live with the PLM project in two phases, the first in April 2023 for foundational data and project management, the second in May 2025 for risk control, automation and cost management. The results land in the numbers. Work that once took four person-days, adjusting 44 formulas, now finishes in minutes, while automated checks for food safety, export, halal and additive rules run the moment a team enters a formula. Formula review and product specification creation are each 80% faster. Compliance calculation accuracy reaches 100%, with the system verifying food safety, export, halal and additive rules automatically the moment a team enters a formula.
The digital R&D foundation now in place, Teway Food sets its sights on data-driven product development as its next frontier.
“Food & beverage innovators are under pressure to move faster without ever bending on safety or compliance,” says Fabrice Canonge, CEO of Centric Software. “Teway Food proves the two advance together. We are proud to back their pace of innovation and the standard they are setting for digital R&D in consumer goods.”
