Reelbrands have appointed Swanline Paper and Board (SPB) to distribute Reelboard under Swanline’s Cygnus brand. According to the company, the new range of barrier coated materials gives a viable alternative to PE laminated grades, without the PE! Coated with a SeerPak aqueous coating, the brand-new line of material is suitable for direct food contact. It has been proven to be resilient to grease and moisture through the clever micro applied layered coatings.
Swanline Group is the UK’s trade only supplier of paper-based materials, print and conversion services to the packaging and point of sale sectors. It has been affiliated with Reelbrands for over two years. Swanline is looking forward to bringing this moisture and grease resistant, fully recyclable material to market, which it believes will be a huge benefit for companies looking to become more eco-conscious without compromising quality.

Cygnus Reelboard fits well within SPB’s portfolio of products because they all provide a plastic-free solution. The new Cygnus Reelboard materials are available in virgin kraft or white and part recycled versions, all with similar barrier properties. Cygnus Reelboard is made in the UK with sustainable materials that are BPA (bisphenol A) or PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy alkanes) free and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) Certified. This brand-new range of materials is certified with the internationally recognized plastic-free certification mark and 100% recyclable, biodegradable and compostable. The Reelboard range is said to be ideal to use across a variety of packaging applications, especially in the food industry.

Cygnus Reelboard has grease resistance KIT >12 and water resistance Cobb <20 at 1800. Many grades are available from SPB either as palletized stock at 720x1020mm or sheet cut to bespoke sizes.
