Global packaging solutions provider, Selig Group, has announced a new partnership with Altek International in India that will significantly shorten existing lead times to the local market. The partnership is a result of customer feedback concerning international delivery times.

In the first instance, it will involve Altek warehousing and distributing Selig’s induction heat seal liners for the pharmaceutical sector. The service will subsequently be expanded to accommodate Selig’s food and beverage, nutraceuticals, agrochemical and cosmetics liner ranges as well.

Altek International will be Selig’s exclusive Indian distributor and the partnership will maximize Selig’s packaging expertise with Altek’s logistics credentials. To facilitate the smooth running of procedures, team members Nishant Sharma and Sandeep Thakur from Altek — regional managers responsible for fulfilment throughout India — are working in conjunction with Selig Group’s Indian sales manager, Anshu Upadhyay.

Operations are based out of Altek’s Mumbai warehousing facility and provide product fulfillment across India. The training phase has been completed and the new warehousing and fulfillment house is open for business.

“The initial driver for this new partnership was to improve lead times and service to our existing Indian customers. We have listened and taken action. By creating this base in India, our customers can benefit from local lead times and currency rates, as well as avoiding import taxes. As well as offering them superior service, the aim moving forwards is that we will also be able to provide a highly competitive offering to our global customers who have services in India too.” said Peter Tindale, sales director International at Selig Group.
