At the Anuga FoodTec exhibition, Cybernetik, a leading industrial automation company, highlighted its portfolio of food processing and packaging automation solutions. The company also showcased innovations from Buffalo Extraction Systems, with a focus on the supercritical fluid extraction (SCFE) system, a technology for extracting essential oils and bioactive compounds.
The company presented a mix of process automation products and extraction systems, such as the intermediate bulk carrier system, loss-in-weight feeder and fine grinder.
Pritam Chougale, marketing manager, Cybernetik, said demand for automation in India is rising sharply in packaging and in the food industry as well. “Companies are moving toward automation more in recent years, especially in food, pharma, packaging, and chemical industries.”
Cybernetik participated in the exhibition for the second time, and according to Chougale, the team made a couple of good connections and engaged with stakeholders from different companies. “Experience-wise, Anuga has been good for us.”
Expansion and future plans
Cybernetik is currently in an expansion phase. With the launch of its new manufacturing unit in Maharashtra, the fifth plant for Cybernetik, it is playing a key role in executing large-scale projects.
Another focus area for the company is its new line of bagging machines launched under the brand names CorePack, AutoPack, RoboPack 1, and RoboPack 2. These solutions provide varying scales of automation needs, ranging from 4 bags per minute to 15 bags per minute. “These products are customizable and not bound by hard and fast rules regarding speed or capacity. We tailor them to client requirements,” Chougale explained.
Buffalo Extraction System
From Buffalo Extraction Systems, the company showcased a 5-liter SCFE pilot plant, designed to demonstrate the capabilities of its extraction technology.
Buffalo Extraction Systems’ SCFE technology uses supercritical CO2 as a solvent for the extraction of high-purity oils and actives from natural biomass. Chougale explained, “If you need turmeric oil from turmeric in the purest form, our technology offers that advantage. Globally, we have installed around 40 to 45 such systems.”
This green and efficient method of extraction is increasingly gaining traction among nutraceutical, food, and pharmaceutical companies as industries seek sustainable, solvent-free, and high-quality extraction processes.
